Farus at work in The Blue Fig Bakery in Leyawiin

Farus is an Imperial merchant who works as a baker's apprentice at The Blue Fig Bakery, a bakery in Leyawiin.

As apprentice, Farus does a lot of work. He gets up at 5am every morning and eats breakfast for an hour, then goes down to the kitchen to start the day's baking. He stays there until 7pm, then cleans up and goes upstairs to eat dinner for three hours; after dinner, he goes straight to bed.

Farus wears a baker's apron, rugged pants, and doeskin shoes; he carries a potato, an apple, a loaf of bread, and a key to the shop.

Farus lives above the shop in a moderate sized room he shares with Frehja. It has two separate beds (each with a clothes chest), a dining table and food cupboard, low dresser, and a bookcase and bench.

Farus has little time for idle chatter: "Oh, sorry, I can't talk now! Frehja runs a tight kitchen, and everytime I stuff up, she yells at me."
