Vateshran Eoinola was a known historian and storyteller among the Reachfolk.[1] Little is known about their life, but they were devoted to spreading the tales of Lorkh the Sower of Flesh, and the creation. They lived before 2E 582. Two quotes related to the Void, creation, Lorkh, his heart and the early Men were attributed to them.[2][3]
Quotes[edit]
- "And unto the mountains they fled, for the world grew dark with shadows which sprung from the heart of Lorkh, who though greatly sundered still believed in the light of Man."[2]
- "It was there in the darkness that Lorkh understood. Nothing does not exist. Where there is nothing there is possibility. And so he found a space in the Void where all that is could be."[3]
Notes[edit]
- The Infinite Archive's keepers held great reverence for the oral traditions of Bosmeri Spinners and Reachfolk Vateshrans, yet they refrained from storing these traditions directly. Instead, they were only documented in the archive when transcribed by external parties or presented as observational writings from scholars, or notes designed to aid performers in optimizing their acts. However, this indirect approach often led to a loss in the translation process, rendering these traditions more obscure in the eyes of Hermaeus Mora's archive.[4] Sagas of Eoinola were among these oral texts.[UOL 1]
- The Wayward Guardians were familiar with a vateshran's account suggesting that their Reachfolk ancestors had inhabited the region since ancient times, "when the world was young".[5]
