Sathil is a small settlement of about 20 buildings and a castle known as Sathil Manor on the island of Solstheim. The castle is located on a rock, with the village stretching between it and the seafront. There is no formal dock, but numerous boats with significant keels are pulled up on the beach for usage in deeper waters. There is also an inn called the Char Bucket.[1]

The local populace, mainly Nords with a number of Dunmer and a couple of Khajiit, relies on fishing.

Sathil Manor[edit]

The walls of the castle are living rock for the first fifteen feet or so, polished smooth as glass, and then for another ten feet they are carefully fitted stone. There are two towers that overlook the thick wooden gate that is banded with steel.[1]

It also has barracks and a central keep that rises high before sprouting six slender towers.

History[edit]

Hleryn Sathil was allied with House Indoril, but in 4E 16 he declared himself independent from them and founded Sathil.

During the Umbriel Crisis in 4E 48, Attrebus and Sul visited Sathil searching for Umbra. The sword had possessed Elhul Sathil, Hleryn Sathil's son, and he was imprisoned in a magically protected cell under Sathil castle. Nirai Sathil allowed Attrebus and Sul to enter the cell in order to kill her brother, but she did not allow them to come out, fearing they would go mad after touching the sword.
