History[edit]

Glister Vale

Little is known of Tuinden's life before her ascension to the throne and marriage with King Hidellith. She was a Kinlady, an Altmeri noblewoman. In due time, as ordained by the Scrolls, Tuinden and her husband King Hidellith conceived a child. She gave birth to her daughter, whom they named Ayrenn as the Praxis dictated. She gave birth on the 5th of the Second Seed in the year 2E 555, a date considered very auspicious. She later gave birth to her eldest son Naemon, and at least one more son.[2]

Following the death of her husband in 2E 580 she attended the ceremony of the return of her daughter to the Summerset Isles in Firsthold, she greeted her daughter after she got off the ship and took part in the festivities surrounding her return. Both the death of her husband and the return of her daughter preceded the coronation of her daughter, Queen Ayrenn on the 7th of Frost Fall in the same year.[1][2]

Kinlady Tuinden and her immediate family owned lands in the Glister Vale in the central parts of the Isle of Auridon. The Tower of the Vale served as the summer home for them, though since the death of King Hidellith in 2E 580 it has fallen into disuse and disrepair.[4] In 2E 582 it was a resting place for Queen's entourage during the tour through Auridon.[5]
