Prevents the target from casting spells for the duration.

Notes[edit]

The Paralyze spell has the same casting cost as Silence. Since Paralyze is equally effective at preventing spellcasting (along with everything else), this is usually the preferred option. (Though some enemies, most notably vampires, are resistant or even immune to paralysis.)
