The Border Watch Inn is an inn in the settlement of Border Watch, just east of the Elsweyr border.
The publican, S'thasa, has 50 gold and a leveled Mercantile skill. She rents rooms for 10 gold per night. She will also buy potions and food while selling only the latter. Her wares also include a high-quality blunt weapon (the best at your level and usually enchanted), which you can only buy after having reached 50 Mercantile. Since it is not a merchant item, it respawns every time you level up.
The inn's interior consists of a large counter and bar and two rooms for guests, as well as a dining room in the back. On the right is the inn's famous cheese museum, which contains various varieties of cheese not found anywhere else. The collection is in two very hard-locked display cases. S'thasa's display case key opens the blue case, which contains the notoriously stinky quest-related Olroy cheese. The green case has no corresponding key, and contains two regular cheese wedges, three wedges of cheddar cheese, two wedges of marble cheese, and two wedges of blue cheese. Only the two regular cheese wedges are actually edible. A Nirnroot plant is behind the counter.
The room you can rent is "number 1", the one closest to the entrance. It is spacious and contains two sets of drawers and a lower-class double bed. Room "number 2", which is locked, contains an owned double bed and an upturned table.

- Sheogorath: Fulfill an apocalyptic prophecy to satisfy Sheogorath's morbid sense of humor.
Notes[edit]
- S'thasa is one of the few leveled merchants in the game, causing her to gain 1.5 points of Mercantile skill each time her level increases. Therefore, her Mercantile skill at any point in the game will be
30+(PC-1)*1.5
.
Bugs[edit]
- The two merchant chests here are owned by Witseidutsei.
- The Unofficial Oblivion Patch, version 3.5.8, fixes this bug.
