Oblivion talk:Trenus Duronius
A remedy to the "stuck outside the den" problem[edit]
I found that reverse pickpocketing a lockpick onto him will let him enter the building as he unlocks it. should this be added as a note to his page and Gelephor's? — Unsigned comment by Lewbot1 (talk • contribs) at 15:59 on 4 May 2009
- The fact that the NPC doesn't have a key to the Skooma den door is irrelevant. NPCs don't use keys, and there's no actual key to the Skooma Den door anyway. The only reason that Trenus Duronius can't get into the Skooma Den is because he's not in the "Bravil Skooma Den faction" faction that the inhabitants are in. I personally added both Duronius and Gelephor to this faction in a clean test mod, and the result was that they both were able to enter the door (mere formality, I know, since this is all very obvious). The reason for this is because the door's ownership is set to the faction. Anyone in that faction "owns" that door and can use it (all this information I verified in the Construction Set). I believe this information should be added to the page and the stuff about not having a key deleted. 76.180.222.84 07:11, 8 August 2009 (UTC)

- OK, I've updated the page with the "faction" information. 76.180.222.84 07:28, 8 August 2009 (UTC)

- "If Trenus is added to the faction by using the console, or through a mod, he will be able to enter the door and would also be able to return to the Imperial City."

- I play on Xbox so I have neither mods nor access to the console. I just unlocked the door to the Skooma den (without entering) via an open lock spell. As soon as I did, not only did the door unlock but the red trespass indicator cleared from the door as well. Gelephor and Trenus then went inside the Skooma den. They walked back out as soon as I followed them in and began their journey back to the Imperial City. I'm going to check back there during their next scheduled visit to see if they remain in the den for longer, but it doesn't appear as though they need to be added to the faction to actually enter the place. — Unsigned comment by 174.0.106.101 (talk) at 13:06 on 28 May 2010
- Okay well, to follow up on above, I waited inside the den (for a full month) and Gelephor turned up as scheduled, stayed for two days (inside the den) and went back to the Imperial City. Trenus never appeared. I checked to see if he was still alive and he was. Not sure what's up with him. I suppose he could have been just outside of the den at some point, but I'm not sure what would stop him from entering if Gelephor can enter just fine without being added to the skooma den faction. — Unsigned comment by 174.0.106.10 (talk) at 16:27 on 29 May 2010

Paris[edit]
Am I imagining this, or does Trenus make a reference to Paris, France when he says:
Big city. I really LOVE the lights at night, shoo-shoo. The City of Love. Got it? Love? Light? Night? Big. Big, big, big, BIG!
No where else is the Imperial City called this, but Paris is often called both "The city of light" and "The city of love". If this is an agreeable reference, it should deserve a note.--Arch-Mage MattTalk 00:09, 11 June 2010 (UTC)
- Yeah, I just got that line the other day for the first time (at least that I remember) and I wondered what to make of it. ‒ Robin Hood↝talk 00:58, 11 June 2010 (UTC)
- So... its okay to add it to the page? --Arch-Mage MattTalk 01:10, 11 June 2010 (UTC)
- Let's wait and see what someone else says. I didn't think it was a strong link, but then, neither am I terribly familiar with Paris. ‒ Robin Hood↝talk 01:35, 11 June 2010 (UTC)
- I'm not saying I am, but quoting Wikipedia, "Paris has many nicknames, but its most famous is "La Ville-Lumière" ("The City of Light")" and the whole lights and the Eifel Tower things leads into the City of Love. --Arch-Mage MattTalk 01:57, 11 June 2010 (UTC)

Perfect target for thieves.[edit]
His house in imperial city temple district is a perfect target for the quest "Independent thievery". Simply sneak in and steal as many skooma bottles as you can carry. You can get a lot of money for them. — Unsigned comment by 83.183.34.159 (talk) at 21:10 on 21 January 2011 (UTC)
