- Report to Major Cirenwe.
- Talk to Captain Jimila.
Detailed Walkthrough[edit]
Talking to Major Cirenwe will reveal there are two important things that need to be done here, and the tasks will be split between you and Razum-dar so you choose one task or the other (not both).
- Firstly, the Maormer have taken three notable citizens hostage: Treethane Fariel's husband Ulmion, the passing Summerset noble Meratille, and the crime lord Bashshi-ra. You will be provided with invisibility potions for the hostages to escape to safety once you have rescued them. Meratille is being held in an Abandoned Temple, and will be glad of the rescue: Ulmion in the "West House" (actually more north than west), and just as you rescue him he will pull a dagger from his boot and kill his captor, but know that he can't get through all the Maormer lines himself, so he will be grateful for our potion: while Bashshi-ra in fact appears to have cut a deal with the Maormer, since he is not tied up but has food, drink and even skooma, and will try to refuse to leave without them unless you intimidate him otherwise.
- Alternatively, you can leave this task to Razum-dar, and opt instead to disrupt the Maormer chain of command by killing their three commanders: Linundil, Ilyria and Norevalion.
- In either case, you are given the option of taking the armor of the captured Maormer scout, Larnil, to blend in among the Maormer: it is in fact generic "Sea Viper Armor", and other examples of the same can be found on dead Maormer soldiers and used with the same effect - while you wear it, the Maormer and Heritance forces will be non-hostile until you initiate combat, or are spotted by a designated "Sentry" of either faction.
Having done either of the above tasks, the next step is to head to the lighthouse and light its signal beacon. Inside, you will find the mutilated, tortured Altmer prisoner Telonde, ambushed in the Woodhearth tunnels some while back while following orders which he believed were coming from the late Asteril of the Thalmor, but had actually come from her traitorous twin sister Laryaril who had murdered her and assumed her identity. He tells you that Pelidil performed a ritual to bring Prince Naemon back as lich - but, having brought him back, Pelidil was unable to maintain control of Naemon, who spat in his face and left. After telling you this, Telonde dies. Climb to the top of the lighthouse, light the beacon, then fight your way back southwards to Major Cirenwe, through the Sea Vipers - some of whom will now be engaged by Dominion Soldiers.
When you return to Cirenwe, she tells you that the battle is going well, but Pelidil has already put to sea in a Maormer ship: you will have to chase him, aboard Captain Jimila's "Prowler", which was initially captured in the Maormer attack but has been recaptured. Make your way along the docks to the Prowler and report to Jimila.
Notes[edit]
- The bag containing Larnil's armor won't exist before starting the quest or reaching the related objective.
- The hostages and commanders won't exist in the area before starting the quest.
- Telonde and the dead Thalmor soldiers won't exist in the Beacon Tower before starting the quest or reaching the related objective.
- Despite the NPCs and quest objectives stating repeatedly that the Veiled Heritance has a large presence in the area on par with the Maormer, the only presence they have next to the overwhelming Sea Viper forces is lone sentries on patrols.
- Captain Jimila won't exist aboard the Prowler before speaking with Cirenwe.
Quest Stages[edit]

Finishes Quest | Journal Entry |
The first order of business is to free hostages the enemy is holding and to kill their commanders. I should talk to Razum-dar to decide how to divide up the tasks.
Objective: Talk to Razum-dar and Select a Task
|
|
Objective: Take Larnil's Armor to Disguise Yourself
|
|
I need to rescue the hostages while Razum-dar weakens the Maormer forces. Meratille, Bashshi-ra, and Ulmion are being held in the buildings around the sanctuary.
Objective: Rescue Meratille
Objective: Kill Commander Linundil
Objective: Rescue Bashshi-ra
Objective: Kill Commander Ilyria
Objective Hint: Collect Bashshi-ra's Pipe
Objective Hint: Collect Bashshi-ra's Wine
Objective Hint: Collect Bashshi-ra's Leftovers
Objective: Rescue Ulmion
Objective: Kill Commander Norevalion
|
|
With the hostages and freed and Maormer commanders dealt with, I must head to the lighthouse and light the beacon as a signal to Major Cirenwe to launch the full-scale attack.
Objective: Enter the Lighthouse
|
|
Just inside the lighthouse I found several dead Thalmor and signs that some kind of dark ritual was conducted here. One of the Thalmor appears to have survived. I should speak to him to find out what happened.
Objective: Talk to Telonde
|
|
Pelidil has raised Prince Naemon from the dead, but I don't have time to worry about that right now. I need to light the beacon at the top of the lighthouse to signal Major Cirenwe to launch the attack.
Objective: Light the Beacon to Signal the Dominion Troops
|
|
Dominion soldiers have launched a full-scale attack against the Maormer and Veiled Heritance forces at Seaside Sanctuary. I should join the battle and reconnect with Major Cirenwe.
Objective: Talk to Major Cirenwe
|
|
Though Dominion forces have nearly retaken Seaside Sanctuary, it seems that Vicereeve Pelidil is on a Maormer ship off-shore. I need to speak to Captain Jimila about setting sail in the Prowler to confront Pelidil.
Objective: Talk to Captain Jimila at the Prowler

- Not all Journal Entries may appear in your journal; which entries appear and which entries do not depends on the manner in which the quest is done.
- Stages are not always in order of progress. This is usually the case with quests that have multiple possible outcomes or quests where certain tasks may be done in any order. Some stages may therefore repeat objectives seen in other stages.
