Additional Clothing Mods[edit]

I haven't had much time to look for them, but are there mods currently out that add additional clothing specifically for Mania or Dementia?

Zealot Robe and Hood Effects?[edit]

The article currently states that the Zealot Robe and Hood have no effects, but I seem to recall hearing through the Rumors dialog something to the effect of "If you want to sneak up on Zealots, wear their clothing. They can't tell the difference." (Not an exact quote, I didn't think to write it down when I heard it.) A little later on in the game, I happened to be wearing Zealot Robes and Hood when I stumbled upon a sacrifice altar. I didn't realize until I was on top of the thing that there were Zealots using it at the time, but they had seen me, and when I had finally gotten close enough, one of them exclaimed out loud "You're not one of us!" and they started attacking. Anyone else able to confirm this, so we can update the article with it?

Yeah, the same goes for Heretics. Nufy8 17:33, 30 March 2007 (EDT)
I think they were simply referring to the items having no enchantments. QuillanTalk 17:36, 30 March 2007 (EDT)
The armor has no enchantments, and also, the robes and hood works on lesser heretics or zealots, they just dont work on their leaders, they can recognize their kind. Its useful when you stumble upon a single hut with a zealot or 2, but not gonna work with a large group as an "elite" zealot should be among them. Onime-no-EnishiTalk 20:36, 22 October 2008 (EDT)

Helmets[edit]

Which helmets are the ones in the pic (in the foreground)? Pascal 13:35, 2 April 2007 (EDT)

On the left is Count Cirion's Helm and on the Right is the Diadem of Euphoria.--Divine Crusader 13:44, 2 April 2007 (EDT)

Count Cirion's Helm looks exactly like the XXXX Madness Helm that can be made from Madness Ore. As far as I know, the Diadem is unique; I don't think another headpiece shares that graphic. QuillanTalk 15:28, 2 April 2007 (EDT)
Incorrect. Count Cirion's Helm has those silly horns. :p Madness armor does not. --Deathbane27 09:53, 26 April 2007 (EDT)

golden saints armor and/or dark seducers armor?[edit]

I sided with the saints in Cylarne, and was awarded a dark seducers armor set and helmet after I took over Pinnacle rock. is their any way to get both sets of armor?, because I really want to have the saints armor set... AKLOR

Only way is to start again but this time side with the Dark Seducers (so you end up getting GS armour). Unfortunately you can only get one set of armour per character unless you you the console - Pferris 20:30, 4 April 2007 (EDT)
That's a pain, I wanted to be the golden ruler of Mania :) -Lordsword 8 13:47, 23 April 2007 (EDT)
Still possible via mods or console commands. 65.14.2.104 19:32, 23 April 2007 (EDT)

Solution for calming pants glitch: player.removeitem 00078727 1

Strange...I sided with the saints and got GS armour. I really want DS armour though.

The armor you get depends on which Duke/Duchess you kill in the Ritual Of Accession quest, and not whose side you choose at Cylarne. You end up with the armor of the opposite aligned house of whichever Duke/Duchess you choose to kill in that quest.67.181.190.29 07:54, 1 May 2009 (EDT)

Golden Saint armor type[edit]

I took the Manic side in Cylarne, so I got the Dark Seducer armor, which is light. Do you know if the golden variety is heavy?

It is. Updated article. --Deathbane27 18:39, 6 May 2007 (EDT)

Calming Pants effect?[edit]

The Calming Pants seems to have a "special" effect when you put them on. Anyone know what it does? --68.110.235.31 02:17, 3 May 2007 (EDT)

It plays the visual effects for Calm. No actual effect. --Deathbane27 18:37, 6 May 2007 (EDT)
Well, there has to be some other effect other that Fortify Personality. That Extreme Calm effect has to do something. — Unsigned comment by 75.108.252.47 (talk) on 3 July 2008
If your assertion is based on your vast knowledge of the game's mechanics and familiarity with the construction set scripts, then by all means enlighten us and tell us what's been overlooked. But at the moment three separate editors (including the responses to the nearly identical question at Shivering_talk:The Coming Storm#Calming Pants Question) have researched this in the construction set and have come to the exact same conclusion: "Extreme Calm" plays a visual effect and adds an entry in your active effects. Nothing else. --NepheleTalk 12:04, 3 July 2008 (EDT)

"Cursed Red Mountain Shield" not unique[edit]

The "Cursed Red Mountain Shield" really isn't unique. "Shield of Red Mountain" is a random-found Oblivion item, and SI just added the "Cursed" variety. I also found a "Cursed Stormrider Shield", so I guess there are quite a few of them.

Update - I found some others: Cursed Balliwog Boots (variation on Boots of the Shark - drains agility); Cursed Unseen Cuirass (which I seem to have lost or sold, so don't have stats). OTH some seem worth mentioning - The Cursed Stormrider Shield you found has a 10% weakness to poison, but shock shield is 15%, compared to 9% on the original. Seems like a good tradeoff.
Other items I've found include a Slaughterfish Scale Charm (water breathe + Resist disease 25%) and Cursed Absorbing Gauntlets (spell absorbtion 24 pts, drain magicka 10 pts). Don't know of any equivalent in regular Oblivion. Does anyone else? If there are a lot of these, perhaps we need a page on magic items found in regular loot, like the one on the Oblivion Wiki pages. Barbridg 21:29, 16 July 2007 (EDT)
Yes, there are a large number of cursed items. They are now all listed at Shivering:Armor#Random Armor. When I get a chance later today I'll also update Shivering:Apparel to include all available jewelry and clothing, including items such as the Slaughterfish Scale Charm. --NepheleTalk 10:59, 25 July 2007 (EDT)

syl's dress[edit]

is there anyway to get syl's dress because she isn't whearing it when you kill her. her 'clone'is wearing the armour but you can't get it from her

I haven't tried it yet but if you are on the PC you might try using the console and typing "player.additem 7393C". Jason the2nd 11:37, 30 June 2007 (EDT)
Update - I did some searching and it seems you can't do it without a mod. I found one online at http://forums.spellholdstudios.net/index.php?showtopic=26398 that you could give a shot. Jason the2nd 11:45, 30 June 2007 (EDT)
player.additem 0007393C 1
followed by
player.equipitem 0007393C
worked for me, even though the dress doesn't display in my inventory. 86.80.161.104 19:50, 30 November 2008 (EST)
If you wear the dress during combat in first person perspective you will notice that the arms of your character do not display above the wrist. It is obvious the dress was never meant to be worn by the player.— Unsigned comment by 69.73.94.114 (talk) at 05:34 on 27 July 2009 (UTC)

Talisman of Abetment[edit]

Me being the rush in, kill all, rush out kinda player i acidentally missed the chest with the Talisman in it. I have already returned to hand in the quest and proceeded to start the next one. I'd Like to know, is it possible to return and pick up the talisman once you have left or do i need to go back a save? --Lavadragon 14:39, 26 August 2007 (EDT)

You can definitely return to Xedilian after the quest is complete and access the first few rooms of the ruin. I believe you still have access to the room where the chest is located, but I'm not 100% sure. The easiest thing to do is just fast travel back to the ruin and see whether or not you can get it. --NepheleTalk 14:59, 26 August 2007 (EDT)

No u can't a portculis thingy goes down and you cant get back in unless u like teleport in or something.. Enjoy --Prince of Madness 07:41, 18 July 2008 (EDT)

Scruffy Shoes[edit]

I was going to add 'Scruffy Shoes' to the Oblivion clothing page because I have a pair and haven't entered the Shivering Isles yet, but then I realized I probably got them off the corpse of Belmyne Dreleth after he came out of the gate. The interesting thing is that when worn these display as just a couple of rings around the ankles rather than shoes of any kind. Is that normal for the Scruffy Shoes, something specific to Belmyne's pair, or just a random glitch? --67.82.60.36 19:12, 15 April 2008 (EDT)

This is just a glitch, as I have worn that pair before, It probably is a loading problem, especially if you're on the Xbox 360.--Puddle 21:06 April 16, 2008 (EDT}
I think it may have to do with your gender - my female character hs said rings around her feet, but my male has the proper shoes. — Unsigned comment by 86.25.27.225 (talk)
It seems you're right. I'm no expert at texture editing, but it looks like the female version of the shoes points to texture files that don't exist! --Robin Hood (TalkE-mailContribs) 13:37, 12 June 2008 (EDT)
Yeah, I've just checked in-game (well, in-testinghall to be precise) with a female character, and you just get a couple of rings hovering around the ankles. Might be worth mentioning to Kivan, as it doesn't appear to be in the fix list for the USIP. --Gaebrial 04:26, 13 June 2008 (EDT)
(Edit): I just did exactly that. --Gaebrial 04:30, 13 June 2008 (EDT)
Well, he's getting it from all side, then, cuz I sent him an e-mail yesterday on the same thing. :) --Robin Hood (TalkE-mailContribs) 09:58, 13 June 2008 (EDT)
I was just wondering about this myself since I couldn't figure out where the "missing" shoes are. Looking at the nif, it seems that the female version is intentionally just some cord wrapped around the ankles rather than the result of a missing texture (the "world" object is of the same appearance, complete with its own collision box, so it doesn't look accidental), although I suspect that it's stretching the definition of "shoes" somewhat. I guess it's just another of those things to add to the generally unkempt and down-and-out feel of Dementia.--Cbh 17:35, 17 August 2008 (EDT)

Ghostly Immobility[edit]

What does this ring do? I've seen it pop up as being added after i give the Dagger to the Mage during the Ghosts of Vitharn quest but then it isn't anywhere to be found. Is it just to prevent you from moving so he can use the dagger to get Magicka? — Unsigned comment by Lord Eydvar (talkcontribs) on 23 December 2008

yeah i'm pretty sure thats all it's for! — Unsigned comment by 142.68.116.174 (talk) on 28 February 2010
Seconded. There really seems to be no other use. It's probably so you don't bug the quest by moving while he performs the action. --SerCenKing Talk 19:18, 3 March 2010 (UTC)
Overdue answer... It's added at stage of the quest if you let him use the dagger. It's removed (in fact, TWO copies are removed from the player for some reason) if he hits you, or if he dies (I guess the devs wanted to be certain it got removed). The ring weighs 1000, which should be more than enough to stop anybody moving. I'm not sure why they did it like that rather than using disableplayercontrols but it should work. As an aside, there's a spell also called "Ghostly Immobility" that casts a burden effect of 1000 and has an editorid of SE32HlovalFreeze. Presumably that was another way they tried of doing the same thing. rpeh •TCE 19:59, 26 August 2010 (UTC)

KOO Armor[edit]

I don't know how to change the page, so that's why I'm responding in this section: Shouldn't the KOO armor be moved to Shivering:Armor? — Unsigned comment by Apophis2412 (talkcontribs) on 1 January 2009

Yeah, I tried that, but there's no proper section for it. Also, when you add a new comment, use the "+" thing to add it, and always add your comment to the bottom of the page. DaedryonTCE 10:31, 1 January 2009 (EST)
Yes, armor belongs on Shivering:Armor, not Shivering:Apparel. But this particular armor is a test version of the armor that can only be accessed using the console. The only places it ever appears, anywhere in the game, are in two test cells. Therefore, it has no relevance to gameplay. There are countless test items, test creatures, test spells, test junk that are defined in the game data, many of which can be found in the various test cells. But we don't document all that stuff. The only people who could possibly care about it are PC players, all of whom can open up the construction set themselves if they want to find out the stats. --NepheleTalk 01:00, 4 January 2009 (EST)
Well then I'll put it on the Armor page. And don't give me that BS about it being test stuff. We have information on non-obtainable test items on this site, such as the "Mysticism Potion", and the "Emporer's Robes". I'm re-adding it onto the Armor page. I'm even thinking of starting a page, such as "Oblivion:Test Items", where we can showcase all the test items. Prince of MadnessDaedryon 01:25, 4 January 2009 (EST)
Aaaaand I don't know which section to add it into on the Armor page. >.> Prince of MadnessDaedryon 01:28, 4 January 2009 (EST)
We don't have a page on the Mysticism Potion. We do list the Emperor's Robes because they appear in the game and there is a way of obtaining them without using the console. The Knight of Order Armor never appears in-game: you have to use the console either to add the item directly or to access the Armor Warehouse. Similarly, we don't have notes on the items "Gatekeeper Arm OBSOLETE", "Screaming Branch" or "Widget" to name but three. We don't need information on those items and we don't need information in the KOO armor either. –RpehTCE 06:29, 4 January 2009 (EST)

item location?[edit]

Should where these items can be purchased/found added to this page? I believe it would be helpful for good characters who want no murders. --Oblivion nerd 19:47, 2 March 2009 (EST)

(excuse the accidental revert there). Yes, a couple of locations would be useful. –RpehTCE 15:47, 11 March 2009 (EDT)
Common Treasures — A general store located in Bliss, the Manic side of New Sheoth. (map) It has quite a few SI clothes.

Split[edit]

At the moment we have unique and regular items on the page. I think a split along those lines would be a good idea. Any disagreements? –RpehTCE 15:47, 11 March 2009 (EDT)

Agreed. --Oblivion nerd 18:24, 11 March 2009 (EDT)
I've got the pages split up into generic clothing and unique clothing, but I'd like some input on page names. I was originally thinking of going with Shivering:Apparel and Shivering:Unique Apparel, but I've also considered going with Shivering:Clothing and Shivering:Unique Clothing to be more consistent with Oblivion pages. Thoughts? –Eshetalk 01:11, 27 June 2009 (UTC)
I say be consistent with the Oblivion namespace. Good luck with the links ;) --Elliot(T-C) 02:07, 29 June 2009 (UTC)

In a brilliant stroke of wisdom, I completely forgot about preserving the page history. I'm going to try moving Shivering:Apparel over Shivering:Clothing and restoring the new version of the page. –Eshetalk 03:01, 29 June 2009 (UTC)

orange/brown loafers[edit]

brown loafers actually match the color of the grey shirt and pants, while orange matches brown. anyone agree? — Unsigned comment by 98.142.49.26 (talk)

Patchwork clothing & Scruffy shoes[edit]

From the article:

"There are two slightly different versions of the patchwork pants.
Dark clothing of Dementia."

Both versions are "Dark clothing of Dementia?" Up until now, I had assumed that the existence of the two versions of patchwork pants, shirt, and scruffy shoes indicated that one version is the Dementia-style while the other version is the Mania-style. There are, after all, Mania-styled and Dementia-styled versions of middle-class and upper-class clothing. — Unsigned comment by 174.0.106.101 (talk) at 05:20 on 16 June 2010

Yes, both versions of the Patchwork Clothing and Scruffy Shoes are Dementia-based. The equivalent Mania versions are the Grey/Brown Pants and the Brown/Orange Loafers. Robin Hoodtalk 15:20, 16 June 2010 (UTC)

The few people who got the following isn't shwon on the page...[edit]

Light green Regalia: Only two got this. Orinthal and Sontaire.
Light purple finery: From what I know, only Tilse Areleth got it.

Shouldn't they be listed if someone wants the clothing? — Unsigned comment by Calonderiel (talkcontribs) on 15 February 2011

Good spot. Just done it, but feel free to make changes yourself - it's a wiki after all! rpeh •TCE 09:28, 15 February 2011 (UTC)

Robe of the Apostle[edit]

Where can the Robe of the Apostle be acquired? There seems to be no indication, or is worn by Apostles in the main quest?--C0rTeZ48 (talk) 02:14, 15 March 2021 (UTC)
