Tamriel Data:Insects
Tamriel Data includes several new types of Insects, including diseased variants of existing creatures. These are almost exclusively found within Morrowind as part of Tamriel Rebuilt releases, although the range of insects like the Skyrender likely extends into the territory of Black Marsh and Cyrodiil as their canyon habitat extends beyond the political borders of Morrowind province. Additionally the Spikeworm is a creature created for use in Hammerfell.

Muskfly[edit]
Flying insects that emit a buzzing noise as they move in to attack. These creatures are almost harmless on their own, but can be very annoying in a swarm. They are found almost exclusively in the Boethian Mountains Region of Morrowind, although the residents of Bal Oyra may disagree. Muskflies may be infected with the disease Ticklebritch.
The Swamp Fly is a unique creature found only in cell [36,2] of the Boethian Mountains. Its appearance is identical to that of a Muskfly.

Plain Strider[edit]
The Plain Strider is a smaller and noisier variant of the Silt Strider which appears in a couple of places on Morrowind's Telvanni peninsula. Tamed variants are accompanied by their owner, and seem to serve as beasts of burden.

Riverstrider[edit]
Utilised by House Telvanni as a means of transport, similar to the Silt Strider, the Riverstrider can be found drifting on the waters near many wizard towers in Tamriel Rebuilt. However, like Silt Striders these individuals are immobile. The Juvenile Riverstrider can move, but has not been implemented in the current release.

Silt Strider[edit]
Common to Morrowind towns as a means of transport, Silt Striders permit easy navigation across the hostile terrain of the province. Tamriel Data includes a Silt Strider that is able to move. However, this variant has been removed from current Tamriel Rebuilt releases due in part to the abruptness of its rotations and the impracticality of implementing such a large creature within the Morrowind engine. Those that did exist, such as at Sadas Plantation, have been replaced with their vanilla forms.

Sky Render[edit]
Sky Renders (or Parraptons) are large insects resembling wasps that construct their hives in the southern regions of Morrowind, in particular the dry canyons of Shipal-Shin. They are sometimes used as mounts by the native Dunmer, and indeed a mounted variant used by House Dres does exist within the Tamriel Data file. This variant once appeared in Port Telvannis, although with a different skin for the Sky Render, and was removed as part of the 22.11 release. As ridable mounts are not implemented within the Morrowind engine, it is unlikely that this mounted variant will ever be used in a future release.
Spikeworm[edit]
This article could benefit from an image. See Help:Images for information on how to upload images. Please remove this template from the page when finished. |
Spikeworms are small, predatory, serpentine monsters native to western Hammerfell and the Reach. They are occasionally encountered on the surface, but they are more commonly found underground in caves and abandoned mines. While not dangerous on their own, they've been known to overwhelm unsuspecting adventurers when their underground nests are disturbed.
