For armor, he wears a Nordic iron cuirass, a set of Nordic bearskin greaves, a pair of Nordic bearskin boots, a Nordic iron right gauntlet, and a Nordic iron right pauldron. For clothing, he wears a common shirt with matching pants. Hi wields a Nordic battle axe.

Dialogue[edit]

  • latest rumors:
"I am interested in facts, not rumors. If you have some reliable information about Melie, come back to me."
"We Nords are sturdy and have a good stomach for drinking, but this threw even me off. Next time, I swear, I will be more careful and pay more attention to my love than to this bile."

Fiancee Lost[edit]

  • Greetings:
"Excuse me friend, but have you seen a beautiful Breton woman around? Her name is Melie. You would have to have noticed her, I am sure."
"Do you bring me any new information about my fiancee Melie?"
"I am so glad Melie is safe now! Thanks to you, my friend! As I promised, I have a reward for you. Unfortunately I have nothing valuable to give you, but I may know something that would interest you. I can tell you of a place where a perfect sword could be found."
"I hope you will be able to recover that sword. It is worthy of a great hero like you. We shall probably leave soon, but I am sure our paths will cross again. Good luck, and thank you for your help once more!"

If Melie is dead:

"Melie!"
  • Melie:
"Oh, Melie! She is such a beautiful and charming person! I will never forget the evening in Dawnstar when we met... I knew we shouldn't have come to this damned poisonous ashland. It is full of dust, diseased creatures, lunatic wizards and fanatic Daedra-worshipping maniacs... and the famous mazte. Pfffh! You would do better to chew roots instead! Nothing compared to good Nordic mead! And definitely nothing worth losing Melie over! But you look confused. Perhaps I should start from the beginning..."
  • Please continue.: "As I told you, I met Melie back at home in Dawnstar. She's an amateur scholar and likes to travel around the provinces to collect the local tales and legends. She told me of her visits of Hammerfell and Summerset Isles, but that is not a part of the story I want to tell you... Briefly, she joined our table in a mead hall and asked us to tell her of the legends and rhymes about the Falmer, and other childish myths. We drank some mead, and the air glittered with opportunity. So we made up this crazy plan."
  • What did you do?: "She told me of her long desire to visit Morrowind and to study the mentality and culture of these blasted elves. She was particularly interested in the Ashlanders, however she was afraid of the hostile environment of Morrowind and the grim nature of its mer. So I offered myself as a companion and a bodyguard. After all, I am a barbarian -- I am used to all kinds of hostile environments and can deal with unfriendly civilization in my own manner. And so we set off."
  • What happened then?: "We packed our things in hurry and took the first ship to Old Ebonheart. We decided to travel to the Telvanni regions, which are the most exotic parts of Morrowind, after the Ashlands. Who else could drink this disgusting mazte stuff? However, everyone told us to visit Wetstone Tavern and have a mug of it here."
  • And what happened?: "In fact... I had more than one mug of it. Not that I liked it that much! No, not at all! I just hoped that one more mug would yield that hidden, charming taste everyone was singing songs about. However all I remember is waking up with Melie on the beach on the south of the island. Melie told me she was going to go to the market and buy something nice. But... that was the last time I saw her. Do you think you could help me ask around and find her?"
  • I've heard enough.: "What? Hmmph. Do you have more important things to be doing? Very well, but I'll still be here if you change your mind." Goodbye (Disposition down by 5)
  • I've heard enough.: (See "What? Hmmph..." response above)

  • I've heard enough.: (See "What? Hmmph..." response above)
"I've told you all that I know. Perhaps you could go and ask someone around. Once you are absolutely sure where she is come back to me. If you aren't sure, it's pointless for you to tell me. I will settle only for facts. If you help me to find her, I will reward you generously, I promise. Come to me once you are absolutely certain of where she is."
"So you have seen her in the Yashazmus ruin? Blessed be Kynareth! Is she alive? Is she safe? Why haven't you saved her? That does not matter now... Here. Take these gems for your information. You did a good job, but the final part is for me to finish. I will head for Yashazmus soon and save her from her prison, before it is too late. Leave me now." Goodbye (Disposition up by 15, and you receive 3 Amber and 5 Turquoise)

Gah Sadrith Inquisition[edit]

  • Melie:

If you haven't told Eranil of Ilwen's confession:

"So you think my darling Melie is being held captive by evil cultists in some forsaken daedric ruin? Are you absolutely sure about this?"
  • Yes, I am! I want you to stay here, while I will be rescuing her.: "Rubbish! I am a much better warrior than you! I am going to the ruins now and you better step out of my way, foolish weakling!" Goodbye (Disposition down by 15)
If Disposition is 60 or higher, you are level 20 or higher, and you have a Reputation of 20 or higher:
"Well, I recognize you as an experienced adventurer, but I am sure I could help too. I will do what you ask though, that is nothing. But you better not disappoint me." Goodbye (Disposition down by 10)
  • Yes, I am! I came to inform you that she is in a grave danger and you must save her immediately if you want to rescue her life.: "Great! My axe will cleave the skulls of the warlocks who dared to lay their hands on my love! Here, take these gems as a reward for your help. You did a great job investigating, but I do not need you anymore. Now is the part for warrior like me to act." Goodbye (Disposition up by 25, and you receive 3 Amber and 5 Turquoise)
If Disposition is 60 or higher, you are level 20 or higher, and you have a Reputation of 20 or higher:
"Great! My axe will cleave the skulls of the warlocks who dared to lay their hands on my love! Here, take these gems as a reward for your help. I would really welcome if you could assist me fighting my way through Yashazmus, but I can wait no longer and must be on my way very soon. If you want to join me, meet me inside the ruin. We will fight side by side those cultists and save my darling in heroic battle." Goodbye (Disposition up by 25, and you receive 3 Sapphire and 5 Topaz)
  • I am not absolutely sure yet. Perhaps Eranil could confirm my information.: "Then why do you upset me with false hopes? Come back, when you know where Melie is with absolute certainty." Goodbye (Disposition down by 5)

If you have told Eranil of Ilwen's confession:

"You already know where she is? So what are you waiting for? Why do you linger here? I see! You think that I should save her from the hands of those filthy lunatics! I agree with that completely! I shall head to Yashazmus right now and save my darling!"
  • You should probably leave the rescue mission on inquisitors and me.: "Well, if that is what you demand. I will obey your request out of respect for you, but I still believe my axe would come handy as well." Goodbye (Disposition down by 5)
  • Very well, then! We might need another warrior to aid us.: "Great! My axe will cleave the skulls of the warlocks who dared to lay their hands on my love! There is no time to linger now, I must catch up with the inquisitors as they are surely already on their way to the ruin. Come along and we shall meet in there." Goodbye (Disposition up by 25)

If you have told Eranil of Ilwen's confession and have decided to not join the inquisitors on their mission to Yashazmus:

"You already know where she is? So what are you waiting for? Why do you linger here? I see! You think that I should save her from the hands of those filthy lunatics! I agree with that completely! I shall head to Yashazmus right now and save my darling!"
  • The inquisitors are already on their way to the ruin. I think they can handle the rescue themselves, you needn't to worry anymore.: "I am sorry, young friend, but you simply are not experienced enough to judge this. Here, take these gems for your help and step out of my way. I need to catch up the inquisitors now." Goodbye (Disposition down by 5, and you receive 1 Amethyst and 1 Tektite)
If Disposition is 80 or higher:
"Well, your arguments sound pretty reasonable, I must admit. Perhaps I should listen to you and wait here for my darling to return." Goodbye
  • The inquisitors already went to the ruin, you need to hurry if you want to catch them up and join them in the fight.: "Great! My axe will cleave the skulls of the warlocks who dared to lay their hands on my love! There is no time to linger now, I must catch up with the inquisitors as they are surely already on their way to the ruin. Oh, for you... Take these gems as a reward for your help. Without you I would never find out, where Melie was. Wait here until I return with my fiancee and together shall we celebrate my triumph." Goodbye (Disposition up by 25, and you receive 3 Amethyst and 5 Tektite)

If he's decided to go:

"I am decided. To Yashazmus I will go."

If you've convinced him to stay:

"I hope she will be alright. I am not used to standing aside and doing nothing -- it makes me very nervous."
"My many thanks for saving her, %PCName."
"My many thanks for your part in saving her, %PCName."

If Melie is dead:

"Is she... Is she... DEAD?! OH NO! By Kynareth, how could I have failed her so badly?! I swore to protect her here and I failed! I am a barbarian by both name and deed! I should be a hermit instead, living off herbs and roots in the woods of Skyrim. What need do I have for this axe and armor, if I can't protect the love of my life? Away with it! I will return to my homeland soon. Leave me!" Goodbye (Disposition down by 80, and he drops all of his armor and his battle axe)

Search for a Perfect Sword[edit]

  • perfect sword:
"Well... perhaps I might know where such a sword could be found. Help me to save Melie and I promise to reveal its location to you."
"During our voyage from Dawnstar, we shared a ship cabin with a Redguard swordsman, who called himself Roderick. He was a weaponsmith, traveling to Port Telvannis to sell one of his masterpieces to some of the nobles living there. I cannot say what attracts people of his kind into these lands, but I can say that the sword he showed me was a piece like none I had ever seen before. A perfectly balanced Akaviri blade, sharp as the tooth of a werewolf and light as a feather. Even a child could bear that sword."
  • Continue: "Of course he didn't let me carry his treasure for even a moment. He had it locked in his chest in the captain's cabin and kept the key with him all the time. The chest was a really sturdy piece with a hard lock, clearly designed to keep such a precious weapon. Once we reached Old Ebonheart, Melie and I continued on our own. When we later arrived in Port Telvannis, I was curious and wanted to see Roderick again, to ask if he had succeeded. However, I could not find him anywhere."
  • Continue: "Asking around, I found out that the ship with Roderick on board never reached Port Telvannis. It probably got wrecked just west of the island, near to the Sadas Plantation. The sea is often furious there and nearby, the deep abyss has swallowed plenty of ships, never giving them back. Now if you could dive into that abyss, find the key and unlock Roderick's chest, the sword would be yours. Perhaps these potions may come handy. I wish you good luck, I know you can recover the sword." (You receive 10 Potions of Water Breathing, 2 Potions of Telekinesis, and 2 Potions of Detect Key)
"As I said: look in a shipwreck somewhere near the Sadas Plantation. The sword should be locked in Roderick's chest. If you manage to find Roderick's corpse I'm sure the key will be nearby. He always kept it on his body."

Notes[edit]

  • If you let Mjording try to save Melie on his own, he will die, and his corpse can be found in Yashazmus, Outer Halls.
  • Mjording has another line about mazte: "Apparently Gah Sadrith makes the best mazte in all Morrowind. That's why we're here." However, it's randomized with a chance of 1000 of appearing. Given that the Random variable only goes up to 100, it's unlikely that this line would ever appear in normal gameplay.
