The Spawn of Mephala

The Spawn of Mephala is a large spider daedra that serves as the second boss of Fungal Grotto II.

Its unique drops are the Webspinner's Brace and Debaser.

This boss has a small leashing radius to prevent exploits. It cannot be led onto the small bridge nearby, as this will reset the fight. Originally the boss could be taunted onto the bridge to avoid all damage.

Skills and Abilities

As a boss type creature, the Spawn of Mephala is immune to all forms of crowd control effects. As a Daedric creature, the Spawn of Mephala is especially vulnerable to Fighters Guild skills.

Impale

A basic melee attack that does high physical damage.

Daedric Explosion

The boss's arms glow blue and it charges up a large burst of energy around itself. This attack does high magical damage as indicated by a red circle.

Shadow Bolt

The boss spits a purple bolt at a random player. This attack does high magical damage and knocks the player back. This attack can be avoided by rolling.

Daedric Destruction

Lasers will appear from the altars above the arena and target the ground near a random player, causing an explosion at the point of contact. This attack does high magical damage and is indicated by an expanding red circle. Players should note that the laser will move in an attempt to focus on you, and thus constant movement will help the player avoid this attack.

Death Is Your Only Escape

The boss will summon a portal at the back of the arena. This portal will suck the nearest player in and transport them to a small cave. To escape, the player has to kill all the spiders within. To make the fight easier, one of the DPS should stand near the portal, so as to prevent the tank or the healer from getting sucked in. Note that if the boss is low on health (roughly 10%), any player currently inside the cave will be transported back regardless of whether any spiders remain. No more portals will appear after that point as well.

	Fungal Grotto II Assassin	50	Defeat Mephala's Fang, Gamyne Bandu, Ciirenas the Sheperd, Spawn of Mephala, Reggr Dark-Dawn, and Vila Theran in Veteran Fungal Grotto II within twenty minutes of starting the dungeon. Timer starts when players engage the first group of Spider Cultists.
	Fungal Grotto II Survivor	50	Defeat Mephala's Fang, Gamyne Bandu, Ciirenas the Sheperd, Spawn of Mephala, Reggr Dark-Dawn, and Vila Theran in Veteran Fungal Grotto II, without suffering a group member death.
