"Over western river waters,
By Karth bounded, south and north
On mountains sits a humble crown.
Sky's wrath on this stand bring forth
To shake these snowcaps down.

The Four Skull Lookout is a small Nordic ruin situated between Karthwasten and Red Eagle Redoubt.[2] It was known for its association with destruction magic.[1][3]

History[edit]

Second Era[edit]

Around the 2E 582, under the leadership of Witch-Lord Kegairn and the powerful Voidmother Elgroalif, a group of the Reachfolk of the Ghostong Clan, known for their renegade practices, delved into forbidden rituals at Four Skull Lookout.[4][5][6] Their activities involved harnessing the dark power of the Spirit Queen Namira, posing a grave threat to the Reach. Alarming reports revealed that innocent Reachmen were abducted with the intention of being sacrificed in these malevolent ceremonies. As a consequence of their rituals, unnatural rifts were opened in the fabric of reality, unleashing unstable forces upon the land.[7][8][9]

The Stonehands, recognizing the danger, emploeyed the mercenaries and provided them with protective charms capable of closing these rifts. The contracted adventurers confronted the rogue faction, engaging them in battle, liberating the captive Reachmen, and sealing the rifts. They successfully acquired the ritual notes, which were then entrusted to the Stonehands for safekeeping and eventual destruction.[7][8][9]

Fourth Era[edit]

In 4E 201, the Four Skull Lookout fell under the control of bandits who seized the site and transformed it into their hideout.[2][10]:516 They were in possession of the Relics of the Crusader. However, the Last Dragonborn, defeated and eliminated the bandits, reclaiming the relics.[11][12]

In their quest to attain mastery of destruction magic, an ambitious student from the College of Winterhold embarked on a perilous journey across the lands of Skyrim. Their mission was to uncover powerful magics long lost to the ages, seeking out incredible spells that could only be tamed by the most skilled mages. As part of their arduous expedition, they arrived at Four Skull Lookout, where they found a special pedestal and mastered the Fire Storm spell.[1][13][3]

As of then a shrine of Zenithar was found close to the Four Skull Lookout.[2][14]
